Grievances Redressal Committee
The Student Grievance Redressal Committee at M.G.R. College is dedicated to addressing various complaints raised by students, regardless of their nature. To facilitate this process, suggestion and grievance boxes are strategically placed across the campus, encouraging students to share their ideas and concerns. Additionally, students are encouraged to directly approach the committee members or their teachers for assistance in resolving their grievances.
The primary objective of the Grievance Redressal Committee is to foster a sense of responsibility among all stakeholders, thereby maintaining a positive academic environment on campus. All grievances are meticulously handled by the Student Grievance Redressal Committee at M.G.R. College.

Fostering a Positive Environment:
The grievance committee prioritizes maintaining a harmonious atmosphere within the college, promoting friendly interactions between students and fostering respectful relationships between students and teachers.

Encouraging Transparency :
Students are encouraged to express their grievances openly and honestly, without fear of reprisal. To facilitate this, suggestion and complaint boxes are placed strategically across the campus to allow students to voice their concerns anonymously.

Prohibiting Ragging:
The college has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, both within the institution premises and outside. All students are strictly instructed to refrain from engaging in any form of ragging, and measures are in place to prevent and address such behavior promptly and effectively.
Objective and Functioning of the Committee
1. Ensuring a Harmonious Environment: The focus is on maintaining a friction-free atmosphere within the college by promoting positive relationships among students and between students and teachers.
2. Encouraging Open Communication: Students are motivated to report their grievances and problems openly and honestly, without fear of retaliation or mistreatment.
3. Providing Anonymous Grievance Channels: The installation of suggestion/complaint boxes allows students to submit their grievances and suggestions anonymously, particularly in front of the Principal’s office.
4. Promoting Mutual Respect: Students are instructed to respect each other’s rights and self-esteem, emphasizing the importance of demonstrating restraint and tolerance during conflicts.
5. Discouraging Provocative Behavior: Counseling is provided to discourage students from instigating conflicts between their peers, teachers, or college administration.
6. Cultivating Friendly Staff-Student Relations: All staff members are instructed to maintain friendly and non-confrontational behavior towards students, avoiding any form of bitterness or hostility.
7. Zero-Tolerance Policy on Ragging: Ragging in any form, whether inside or outside the institution, is strictly prohibited, underscoring the college’s commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
Activities of the Committee
1. To cultivate open and responsible attitude among all the students/staff in order to
maintain a pleasant educational atmosphere in the Institute.
2. Grievances expected in black and white from the students about any of the following
matters.
- Academic Matters: Related to timely issue of duplicate Mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates or other examination related matters
- Financial Matters: Related to dues and payments for various items from library, hostels etc.
- Complaints, of suspected discrimination of students, from the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Women, Minority or Disabled categories
- Annoyance and ill-treatment of students, including sexual harassment related to certain difficulties about conditions of sanitation, preparation of food, availability of transport, victimization by teachers etc.
- Grievance regarding Admission, Attendance, Charging of fees, non-transparent or unfair evaluation process
3. Any other related grievances arising in the institution to be settled
