The Minority Committee Cell at M.G.R. College serves as a dedicated platform to address the needs and concerns of students belonging to minority communities.
It ensures equitable access to education and opportunities for minority students, in accordance with government guidelines on reservation policies.
The committee facilitates the admission process for students under the reserved category and assists them in accessing scholarships provided by the government.
Additionally, it organizes workshops, seminars, and counseling sessions to support minority students academically and professionally.

Objectives & Activities of the Cell

This committee oversees the admissions process under reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, and Minority, adhering closely to the guidelines outlined in the Government of Tamil Nadu Reservation Policy applicable to self-financing educational institutions. By actively facilitating admissions for students from these categories, the college aims to promote diversity and inclusivity within its student body.
Moreover, the committee extends its support beyond admissions by assisting eligible students in availing scholarships provided by the government through initiatives like the National Scholarship Portal. This initiative helps alleviate financial barriers to education, enabling deserving students to pursue their academic aspirations without undue financial burden.
Recognizing the importance of timely information dissemination, the college ensures that all undergraduate students are promptly notified about the opening of the Scholarship portal for both Fresh Application and Renewal Applications. This proactive approach ensures that eligible students are aware of and can benefit from available financial aid opportunities.
Additionally, the college goes a step further in supporting students from SC/ST categories by offering specialized training programs in collaboration with Veranda Race Academy, Hosur. Through this partnership, students receive comprehensive training and study materials free of charge, empowering them to prepare effectively for competitive exams such as TNPSC and UPSC.
